Flying Lions Dance Company was established by Ting-Yu Chen in 2002 in Winchester, VA.  The project-based Company is devoted to enhance cultural environment, promote health, and increase awareness and tolerance in multiculturalism for our rapid globalizing communities. 

The primary goal of Flying Lions Dance Company is to communicate and exchange life experiences with its audiences. Because of Ms. Chen’s Chinese heritage and her interest in cultural dances, she has developed aesthetics and teaching philosophy with multiculturalism.  Her sociopolitical sensitivity enables her to provide strong leadership that values peace and communication in today’s hostile, war-field charged world.  Her works addresses and reflects the world culture we live in with honesty and artistry.

Stemming from multiculturalism with an emphasis on promoting health, Flying Lions Dance Company delivers unique cultural programming of excellent choreography, performance, dance education, and social/cultural recreation programs for audiences extending from its local Winchester communities to the globe. With sound business management and generous grant funding, Ms. Chen and the Company have received excellent reputation through well organized and executed performances at national and international venues.
